The Big Lebowski

  • by Alan Taylor

Well it has officially hit that Christmas season as all we want to do now is watch movies on the couch all day! One movie that we haven't seen in ages but is one we can watch over and over again is The Coen Brothers 1998 flick 'The Big Lebowski'⠀
⠀
This film, we know, is almost a cliche to recommend but with good reason, it is perfectly paced, engaging, funny and has an iconic cast. Which brings me to our main reason for recommending this, as we feel it is the Coen brothers best example of how they have perfected the 'secondary character'. ⠀
⠀
This is the story about 'The Dude' Jeff Bridges character but rather than being the focal point of the film he seems to be the vessel that we are transported to these other short stories of charismatic and incredibly memorable secondary characters that perfectly string together to make a cohesive and unforgettable story. If you have seen it you will know exactly what we mean, if you haven't we wont ruin it for you!⠀
⠀
What is your favourite character from this film? Let us know in the comments below.⠀
