Donald Judd - A Good Chair is a Good Chair

  • by Alan Taylor

It is no secret that we are obsessed with Donald Judd here at omdo STUDIOS and this week we have a book recommendation this week that shows an aspect of his work that you may not be as familiar with, his furniture.⠀
⠀
Along with being a artist and architect Judd designed furniture which even at a glance has such correlation with his other work. The strong minimal lines mostly ninety and forty five degree angles mirror his installation work.⠀
⠀
⠀
The book has been split between the Spring Street address in Soho New York and Marfa Texas. We have been lucky enough to visit the Spring Street building and it is as beautiful as it looks in the pictures! Both properties, which were used for living and work have a broad range of his furniture design from single chairs to day beds or dining tables.⠀
⠀
Like we have mentioned before we love multidisciplinary creatives and Donald Judd really embodied this!⠀
⠀
Judd designed furniture is still available to purchase and there is a vast range to choose from, check out the website www.judd.furniture
